SOS Security has an immediate opening for a Security Director in the Los Angeles area. The Security Director manages the day to day activity of the assigned account while providing excellent management of security staff and customer service to clients.
Job Duties may include:
Continuous training of assigned officers to ensure the highest caliber of service at all times
Scheduling and payroll
Incident control and timely report writing
Possess the ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality
Ability to work with local law enforcement and/or first responders as necessary
Possess demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Successful Candidates will possess the following:
Minimum of three years’ management experience within the security industry
Must be flexible with the ability to respond as necessary on all shifts
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Possess excellent time management and organizational skills
Proven leadership, supervisory, management, and customer service skills
Must have the ability to handle sensitive situations/incidents with confidentiality and in a timely manner

REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, SECURITY CANDIDATE POOL: INTERNAL & EXTERNAL RESUME DEADLINE: AUGUST 6, 2018 GENERAL PURPOSE The Director, Security plans, directs, analyzes, evaluates and supervises activities relating to the protection, safeguarding, and security of employees, vendor partners, visitors, company assets, and KSE property locations. The Director, Security implements, monitors, and ensures compliance with all security policies, procedures, and programs. This individual is responsible for the operations of the 24-Hour Security Department as well as developing, implementing and directing security programs for the organization including managing the physical security issues for all KSE properties and for all staff working within those facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs and maintains exemplary security for all KSE properties.
Leads and directs security staff in multiple security core disciplines to: identify potential or existing security risks to the overall organization; research and deploy state of the art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard staff and company assets; direct the approach, implementation, and execution of investigations and appropriate corrective actions.
Provides expert advice and technical expertise to department heads and upper management including input to proposal development and security plans
Develops and manages the capital and expense budget for the department
Demonstrates close relationships with high-level domestic and international law enforcement, intelligence, and private sector counterparts
Directs department response to emergency situations; ensures that staff members carry out duties as assigned; ensures Emergency Response Plans are implemented and followed, communicates with emergency services personnel, both internally and externally, before during and after emergencies.
Briefs senior management on status of security issues and operations and represents organization in senior and/or executive level corporate, government and industry security working groups.
Communicates with League officials; ensures compliance with security mandates
Makes final decision on administrative or operational matters and ensures department’s effective achievement of goals
Identifies potential or existing security risks to the overall organization and presents those risks for resolution
Creates, implements, and evaluates departmental Standard Operating Procedures
Identifies and implements training on a Corporate level relevant to emergency procedures and security practices
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of ownership, executives, other departments, and vendor partners.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
The position requires strong management, administrative, supervisory, training, presentation, consultant, and facilitator skills. Strong written and verbal communications are needed.
Ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings/nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
Skill in assessing security risks and needs.
Ability to obtain necessary clearances for review of sensitive material
Superior knowledge of technical aspects of security systems
Education or Formal Training:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
Training in law enforcement, fire science or security related fields preferred
Training relevant to crowd management/crowd control, security systems and emergency preparedness/response
Minimum five years of civilian and/or government security experience, including three years of management experience
Experience in special event security and pubic assembly venue security highly desirable.
