    Description

    The Director of Operations reports to the Vice President of Operations and provides strategic advice to the Board of Directors and Leadership. Directly supervises U.S. Domestic Operations and facilitates operations internationally include leadership of operations team, setting recruiting/staffing requirements, business development and client management.

     

    Duties

    • Supervises all U.S. operational responsibilities and facilitates international operations

    • Work closely with other Regional Directors and Managers to ensure continuity of operational standards

    • Conduct operations as necessary to fulfill client needs including providing protective, investigative, consulting or training services

    • Oversees technical support requirements of the corporation

    • Provides Board of Directors and Leadership with guidance relative to business markets, strategies and growth opportunities

    • Oversees Training Division and Technical Operations Division

    • Conducts business development efforts and actively participates with sales team.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures adherence to processes for the management of operational units, equipment, and documentation.

    • Establishes technical direction for internal policy, procedures and technical assets to include IT systems, hardware, security technology hardware and software.

    • Assesses the adequacy of programs to support client needs.

    • Establishes policies and procedures for all relevant locations.

    • Ensures the activities of operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and further the mission of the department.

    • Establishes and maintains an open line of communication between senior leadership and operational business unit personnel.

    • Develops operational plans which incorporate strategic goals and objectives established by the Board of Directors and Leadership.

    • Provides senior consultation for large projects.

    • Coordinates with all Directors to develop and maintain a progressive training regimen for all staff.

    • Oversees major projects.

    • Maintains operating budgets and monitors security spending in region of responsibility.

    • Develops and builds relationships with high-level law enforcement, intelligence, and regional vendors.

    • Develops relationships with existing and prospective clients.

    • Meets or exceeds billable/managerial hour requirements as established by corporate policy.

    • Prepares reports and provides briefings to senior executives and the executive team on risks, recommendations, and performance of the region of responsibility.

    • Coordinates with local law enforcement, emergency response agencies, business groups, contractors, and others to enhance facility protection and improve operational efficiency.

    • Provides leadership to region and managers and assists in identifying needs and solutions.

    • Provides operational services as needed to support client needs.

    Experience Requirements

    ü Suitable candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years of specific experience in the industry and complete all mandatory training satisfactorily

    ü In addition to 10 years of industry experience, suitable candidate must have at least 5 years of industry specific managerial experience.

    ü Technically and tactically proficient in all aspects of general, fraud and threat investigations

    ü Advanced experience in preparing, managing and preforming personal protection operations

    ü Experience in running investigations and protection operations in an overseas environment.

    Asset Protection Operations and Investigations- Manager

    • Responsible for all internal investigations

    • Own all aspects of physical security for the corporation (corporate offices, Retail, Supply Chain) including design, capital planning, and vendor management

    • Conduct risk analysis evaluations on corporate facilities

    • Develop and deliver in-house training for Sleep Number team members (Active Shooter, Situational Awareness, Workplace Violence, Personal Safety, etc.)

    • Manage the Security Operations Center

    • Develop and manage all aspects of an internal corporate Executive Protection strategy

     

    Responsibilities

    • Initiate and manage internal investigations related to theft and fraud

    • Develop and execute an internal strategy for executive protection and act as the primary agent for critical senior leadership personnel; develop and maintain a list of vetted contractors to support efforts as needed

    • Conduct site risk analysis and develop appropriate response protocols

    • Anticipate, plan for and manage all crisis response efforts

    • Manage the Security Operations Center – equipment and contracted personnel

    • Develop and deliver Asset Protection / Safety awareness training to all team members

    Qualifications

    Experience:

    • Five + years’ experience conducting internal and external investigations – deep knowledge of case identification, investigation and resolution including proven experience in conducting interviews

    • Five + years’ experience in corporate executive protection including primary agent and supervisory agent functions

    • Prior military or Law Enforcement experience preferred

    • Prior experience in site risk analysis for corporate, retail, manufacturing

    • Current and deep understanding of security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Alarms, etc.) and vendor management including metric development and RFP processes

    • Prior experience managing teams and a Security Operations Center for a Fortune 500 company

    • Cyber security experience

    Knowledge, skills & abilities:

    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence change at all levels of a large organization

    • Proven verbal and written communication skills

    • Deep understanding of Supply Chain Operations, Reverse Logistics, Manufacturing Operations, Retail Operations, Financial Operations, Facilities Operations, technology and integration
